Fall 09 colleges reporting record enrollment

MCO Colleges are reporting a marked increase in the number of enrollments in their online courses for Fall 09. Students are reporting that they are interested in pursuing online options due to the current state of the economy. Many are believe their jobs may be in jeopardy and feel the need to retool their skills to make them more marketable. Others are training in new fields with growing demand for workers after being laid off.

Popularity of online courses have been growing steadily over the years, however, several colleges are seeing a significant jump in numbers of students registering for online courses for the coming academic year. As a consequence these Fall 09 courses are filling early and students who traditionally wait until the last minute to register may find many of their first choice courses already filled.
