Description:
This course builds upon the concepts introduced in Practical Nursing Pharmacology I (PNS 113). The practical nursing student is introduced to the calculation methods and nursing concepts for safe and effective administration of medications via the peripheral IV route. The practical nurse's role in pharmacotherapeutics is explored in the context of both therapeutic and pharmacological medication classes. An emphasis will be placed on the therapeutic use of medications and natural products for diverse patients across the lifespan. The nursing process will be utilized to guide students as they provide holistic nursing care.
