An examination of the factors which shape the experiences of women as victims, offenders, and criminal justice practitioners. This course will focus on the pathways to crime among female offenders, the nature of victimization among women, and the challenges that women professionals face. Finally, we will focus on the social construction of gender within the justice system and on the intersection of gender, race, class, and crime.Prerequisites: SOC 110 or PSY 110 (Same as WST 217)
