A survey of basic chemistry emphasizing the nature and behavior of organic and inorganic chemicals, the incompatibility of chemicals, and fire chemistry. The course will provide basic chemistry relating to the categories of hazardous materials including recognition, identification, reactivity and health hazardous encountered by emergency services. This course is an approved course in the Fire and Emergency Services Higher Education(FESHE) Recognition Program sponsored by FEMA.
